  2. Our Qurbana Service Schedule

    The Qurbana Services are conducted on a bi-monthly basis, usually on the second sunday of the month. The services are conducted at the St. Mark Anglican Church, 1606 Fisher Ave., Ottawa.ON. Please check the schedule below for the up to date information on the date, location and time of the services.

  3. Achen will be in Ottawa on the preceeding Saturday of all the dates indicated below to conduct Prayer meetings or other Sacraments, unless announced otherwise. If you wish to conduct a Prayer meeting or any other function, please inform the Secretary in advance.

    XIVth Annual Ecumenical Christmas Program

    O Come, O Come, Emmanuel...

    Let's come together to celebrate Christmas and all the season's offerings

    The 14th Annual Ecumenical Christmas Carol program will be held on Saturday, December 10, 2016. Rev. Mathew Baby and the Executive committee would like to invite you and your family to St. Mark's Anglican Church for an evening of Christmas celebration filled with Carol songs and other programs conducted by members of the Malayali churches in the Ottawa region. As we approach the finale of another eventful year, let's praise God for all His blessings and enjoy an evening with friends and families.

  5. Christmas Dinner: We like to also invite you for a delicious (catered) Christmas Dinner, at the reception hall after the Carol program. Please click here to register if you are planning to attend the program, as we need the numbers to place the order.

    To cover the dinner expenses, a collection will be taken during the Carol program. The suggested contributions are as follows. We recommend $15 PER ADULT or $50 PER FAMILY.

    Week of Prayer for Christian Unity

    Every year in January, St Mark's Anglican Church and Madonna della Risurrezione Roman Catholic Church celebrate the Week of Prayer for Christian Unity with a joint ecumenical worship service. This year it is St Mark's turn to host the service. Reverend Father Myron Sarkissian, Pastor of St Mesrob Church, Armenian Church of Canada and it's members are also invited to attend the function.

    The service will be held on Sunday January 23rd, 2010 at 7:30 pm at St Mark's Church.

    All are invited to attend the function.

  10. Maramon Convention CD

    Copies of the 2010 Maramon Convention CDs are now available. If you wish to purchase a copy for $5.00 each, please contact the Secretary. Few copies of the 2009 Maramon Convention CDs are also available. Since there are only limited quantities available, please reserve yours early.

    VIIIth Annual Ecumenical Christmas Program

    Our long standing and much attended annual Ecumenical Christmas Program will be on Saturday December 04, 2010 at St. Mark's Anglican Church (1606 Fisher Ave, Ottawa, Ontario Canada K2C 1X6). The program will commence at 5:00PM. A Christmas Dinner will be arranged for all visitors after the Carol program.

    Mrs. Mary Mathew (Ammal Aunty) Passed away

    Mrs. Mary Mathew, a long time member of the Ottawa Mar Thoma Church and a beloved friend of the community has passed away peacefully on Monday Oct 04th, 2010. Mrs. Mathew will be deeply missed by the members of the Church. Click here for funeral details.

    Mrs. Accamma George, Kingston, Passed away

    Mrs. Accamma George (82), a former member of the Ottawa Mar Thoma Church, later moved to Kingston and then to Montreal, has passed away peacefully on Monday Oct 04th, 2010. Mrs. George was also an active member of the Malayali Association of Ottawa. Mar Thoma church would like to express their deepest condolensces to the bereaved family. Click here for funeral details.

  11. Regional Youth Conference

    The Canadian Mar Thoma Church, Toronto would like to invite the youth of The Mar Thoma Church of Ottawa to the 24th annual Toronto Mar Thoma Regional Youth Conference. This event is held annually during the Victoria Day Long Weekend in May. This year, it is held during the weekend of May 22 – 24, 2010. Bringing together youth from across Eastern Canada, this event will be designed to give youth the chance to explore God, recommit to him, and have fellowship with him through interactive discussions, music, and worship.

  12. Diocesan Sunday

    The Mar Thoma churches of the Diocese of North America and Europe will celebrate March 7, 2010 as the Diocesan Sunday. A special worship service will be used during the service. Members are requested to make a special contribution to the cause.

  13. Christmas Service and Ecumenical Christmas Carol

    Our 7th Annual Ecumenical Christmas Carol program will be on Dec 26th, 2009 at 5:00PM, at St. Mark Anglican Chruch. We like to invite all of you to come and attend this joyous occassion. We would also like to encourage you to participate in this event by presenting solo songs, carol songs or other programs based on the Christmas theme.

  14. Mr. John M. John Passed away

    A long time member and one of the founding members of the Ottawa Mar Thoma Church has passed away peacefully on Saturday Oct 24th, 2009. Beloved husband of Mrs. Suzy John, loving father of Dr. Susan Joseph (Jason Joseph), Mrs. Suma Edward (Sanjeeve Edward, Anika) and Mr. Benson John (Sanjna John). Ottawa Mar Thoma is greatly appreciative of all the services that Mr. John have provided for the Church as Vice-President, Secretary and Treasurer over the years. Will be remembered and deeply missed by the members of the Church.

    Rev. A. Abraham & family visit to Ottawa

    The Vicar of the Canadian Mar Thoma Church, Markham will be visiting Ottawa on August 30, 2009. Achen will be conducting the Holy Communion service on that day in the Mar Thoma Malayalam order at St. Mark Anglican Church. The Communion service will begin at 2:00 PM.

    Episcopal Visit

    The Rt. Rev. Dr. Geevarghese Mar Theodosius, Diocesan Episcopa, visited The Mar Thoma Church Ottawa (www.ottawamarthoma.ca) located in Canada’s capital city, Ottawa. This was Thirumeni’s first visit to this Church as the Bishop of the North America and Europe Diocese of The MTC. The Ottawa parish was established as a congregation in June 19, 1982 by Thirumeni while doing his doctoral studies at McMaster University and serving the ministry as Rev. George Jacob.

    During the visit, Thirumeni conducted Holy Qurbana service, assisted by the Vicar of the Church Rev. Manoj M. Zacharia, Rev. Brian Kauk of the St. Mark’s Anglican Church, Ottawa, and lay leaders Mr. John Kompithra and Mr. Mani P. Mani. As the highlight of the visit, five young members of the Church - Nita Koshy, Sarah Zachariah, Priya Alex, Shruthi Mathew and Sangeeth Mathew - received their First Communion from Thirumeni.

    After the service, a short Felicitation program was organized to officially welcome Thirumeni to the Church and to Ottawa, attended by a large audience including members from various Malayali Church denominations and out of town guests. Ms. Suja Thomas started the program by reading Psalm 100. Dr. John Zachariah (Vice-President) delivered the welcome speech. Invited guests Rev. Brian Kauk, Catholic Priest Father Sebastian Payyapilly and Mr. Wingson Karavally (St. Thomas Orthodox Church, Ottawa) delivered felicitation messages. Secretary Mr. Reji Alex reported on the current status and activities of the Church. Church members Mr. Mathew Thomas and Mrs. Aleyamma Samuel recounted on Thirumeni’s accomplishments and service to the parish.

    Bishop Theodosius delivered a warm speech and delivered a sermon based on John 21:15 - Jesus said to Simon Peter, "Simon son of John, do you truly love me more than these?" - emphasizing that as true followers we should faithfully adhere to the precepts of Lord and Savior Jesus and live accordingly. Members of the church Dr. Philip Mathew and Mr. John M. John jointly presented a gift to Thirumeni on behalf of the Church.

    The program ended with a vote of thanks by Treasurer Mr. Rajiv Thomas, followed by a Dinner at the reception hall.
